Our Chairman is of course the indomitable Phillip Kent,
scale model designer and magazine columnist of repute. Phillips long career in
modelling is well recognised and his scale articles in the model press are a
goldmine of building and flying hints, tips and news of the many scale competitions that take
place both at home and abroad. His latest attempt to swell the ranks
of competitive scale modellers is a competition for stand off scale with no weight
limit other than that set by the Civil Aviation Authority, with no builder of the model rule and any one
can fly your model for you. The scoring is mainly tilted towards the flying
not the static score, thus the builder of the model rule is of less importance,
no excuse not to have a go then, go on make his day, enter.
Phillip has a number of accurate plans for scale model aircraft available, following is list and photos.
Phillip has over the years has assembled an extensively researched photographic library of full-size aircraft
of the 1930 era, if you need any documentation for that era try him. Being a draftsman Phillip has designed and drawn a number of accurate plans for scale model
aircraft, follow the link for detailed list and photos of but a few that are available.
